Troop 68

Merit Badge Saturday – Meet at the Scout Cabin at 7:45 a.m. with your permission slip, merit badge book, blue card and a notebook.  Field uniforms are required.  We will depart at 8:00 sharp for Winters and return by 5:00 p.m.  Be sure to  complete any pre-requisites this week.

Klondike Derby – Troop meetings for December and January will be spent working on scout skills required for the Klondike Derby.  Parents are invited to assist patrols as the patrol leaders work on knots, fire starting, first aid and lashings.

Summer Camp – Troop 68 will attend summer camp at Camp Kern July 11-17, 2010.  Camp Kern is located on beautiful Huntington Lake just east of Fresno.  Our first deposit of $50.00 for summer camp will be due in January!

Trailblazer District Merit Badge Trail Drive – The dates for this event will be February 27^th, March 6^th and March 20^th.  If you plan on attending you must attend all 3 days!  More information will be announced when it becomes available.

NYLT – National Youth Leadership Training will be held May 14-16 and May 21-23 at Camp Pollock.  If you are First Class or above and 13 years of age or older then you should seriously think about attending this incredible leadership course.  Registration will be available after December 1^st.  If you are interested in attending please talk to the Scoutmaster.

National is bringing back some original Merit Badges! – For the 100^th Anniversary of Scouting in the United States you will be able to earn 4 of the original merit badges!  During 2010 Scouts can earn “Pathfinder”, “Carpentry”, “Signaling” and/or “Tracking”.  This will only be offered during 2010!

New Merit Badges – in 2010 there will be some new and exciting merit badges that Scouts can earn……….Scuba, GPS, Robotics and Scouting Heritage.

Adventure Base 100 – To celebrate the 100^th Anniversary of Boy Scouts of America a special 10,000 sq. ft. rolling museum is being built.  Don’t miss out on this special event.  Adventure Base 100 will be in Sacramento for the Sportsman’s Expo January 21-24, 2010.
