CPR Class for those working on First Aid Merit Badge – we will be meeting on Sunday at approximately 1pm at the Woodland Clinic or Hospital to finish up with the merit badge requirements! Watch for email information within the next day or so!

 

Court of Honor – Tuesday, August 25th at 7pm at the Woodland Presbyterian Church on the corner of Country Rd. 98 and Gibson Road. Families are asked to bring cookies to share. Scouts need to be in Field Uniform.

Partial Merit Badges? – Please let the Leaders know if you need help with completing any partial merit badges that you have! We are here to help you succeed!

Parking Assistance at the Yolo County Fair – Older Scouts are needed to assist the American Legion with parking on Saturday, August 22nd at 2pm. Be in everyday clothes!

Backpacking Trip in the Caples Lake Region – we will be taking sign ups for the upcoming trip scheduled for August 29-30. If you are interested in going but do not own a backpack, please talk to the Scoutmaster to borrow one from the Troop.

Popcorn Sales – The Troop will be trying a new approach this year. We will be selling popcorn at Nugget Market on Sunday September 6th and Monday September 7th. See sign up sheet for schedule. All proceeds from this sale will go towards the Troop account. Scout will however earn credit towards awards. We will then be doing “take orders” in October. Proceeds from the “take orders” will be credited towards summer camp.

Catholic Scouters – There will be an Ad Altare Dei Religious Emblem Award weekend retreat October 16th-17th for those Scouts who have completed the 6th grade. Scouts will spend a fun filled weekend together working on the requirements for this award. Registration is on line at www.gec-bsa.org, click on event registration

Religious Emblem Awards for Other Faiths – If you are interested in learning how you can earn an award for your faith contact the Scoutmaster for assistance.

Capitol March – Last chance to sign up with the Troop! The cost is now $30/Scout which includes a catered lunch, commemorative pin, neckerchief, patch along with other goodies. Entertainment and activities will be going on before and after the march at Raley Field.

Capitol March Trading Post – Souvenir items are available for purchase on the Golden Empire web site www.gec-bsa.org under event registration!

Merit Badge Saturday – Each year the Winters’ Troop holds a Saturday workshop to allow Scouts to work on Merit Badges. Be sure to mark your calendars for December 5th! Sign ups will be taken as soon as the courses/instructors have been lined up. Parent’s if you have a special interest, hobby, etc. and are willing to volunteer your time as a Merit Badge Counselor please let the Scoutmaster know and we can assist you with the paperwork needed to apply.

Boards of Review/Court of Honor – All Scouts should bring their handbooks to each and every Troop meeting! The Leaders are looking to assist Scouts with rank advancement, but we can’t do it without your handbooks! Our next Court of Honor is scheduled for Tuesday, August 25th. We will be holding Boards of Review August 4th and August 11th. Please do not wait until the last minute to get your Scoutmaster’s conference and/or to look at your requirements for the next rank!
