Congratulations to our newest Eagle Scout – Taylor G

A special Thanks to all of you for helping to make the Court of Honor a great success!

Den Chief Training – if you interested in becoming a Den Chief you should plan on attending the all day training being held on Saturday, January 19th at Pioneer High School.  To register go to www.gec-bsa and click on University of Scouting.

Merit Badge Classes – Last week you all received a flyer in your mailbox about the up-coming Merit Badge courses being put on in Vacaville in January and February.  If you plan on attending you must return you enrollment form to the Scoutmaster no later than December 4th along with your $.  We will also be looking for a couple of adults to drive.

National Youth Leadership Training – Start thinking about enrolling in one of the 2008 NYLT courses.  Requirements are that you must be 13 by the starting date of the course and you must be First Class or above.  The spring course will be offered May 2-4, May 16-18 at Camp Pollock in Sacramento, and the summer course will be August 11-16 at Camp Lassen just east of Chico in Butte Meadows.

Klondike Derby – Don’t forget to “be prepared” for this event!  Ask Santa for any needed items such as new snow boots, gloves, etc. 

Summer Camp – We will be going to Camp Chawanakee next year.  The camp is located on the shores of Shaver Lake east of Fresno.  The camp is owned and operated by the Sequoia Boy Scout Council.  Camp will be from June 29-July 5.

Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Taylor G

PLEASE be at the Scout Cabin NO LATER THAN 1:30pm!!!


Den Chief Training – Cub Scout Packs are looking for Boy Scouts to help out. If you’d like to be a Den Chief then you should plan on attending the training on Saturday, January 19th at Pioneer High School (sign up: www.gec-bsa.org“University of Scouting”)

Merit Badge Classes – Anyone looking to enroll in the Trailblazer District Merit Badge Trail Drive will need to get their application and $ to the Scoutmaster by December 4th! See the attached flier for a list of available classes. This will take place over three separate Saturday’s in Vacaville.

If you are 13 years of age (by the first day of the course) and First Class and above then you should consider attending this incredible leadership course. Space is limited so sign up early!

Klondike Derby – Our annual snow camping trip will be January 25-26. Start thinking of items you will need so that Santa can bring them for you! Have you outgrown your snow gear? Do you need new gloves? New boots? New beanie?

Veteran’s Day Flags – We would like to apologize to anyone who showed up bright and early Sunday morning. Apparently we had some breakdown in communications. Scouts were to be told that if it rained at all Saturday night then the event was to be cancelled. We regret any inconvenience this may have caused families.

Patrol Leader’s Council Meeting will be held on Sunday, November 18th at 5pm at the Boy Scout Cabin. Anyone is a leadership role should plan on attending. If you are unable to attend please find a suitable replacement and inform the Senior Patrol Leader. You won’t want to miss this important Troop planning meeting!

Troop Committee Meeting will be held on Monday, November 19th at 7pm at the Martin’s home. All parents are encouraged to attend.
