Merit Badge Saturday December 4th

Attached is information for the Saturday, December 4th Merit Badge Saturday held in Winters.

Please email me if your scout is not planning to attend this event.

For those planning to attend the event:

The attached “information” document is 24 pages but contains the list of classes and necessary prerequisites for each class. One class “personal management” has prerequisites that must be started by September 4th. Others, like “camping” include nights of camping with the troop that also must be completed beforehand. A registration form and merit badge day permission slip are also included as separate documents (these forms are also pages 21 and 23 of the information packet).

We will be registering for this event as a Troop, taking advantage of the early registration.

Please submit the registration form, the merit badge permission slip, Troop 68 permission slip, and $15 to the scout master by September 14th.

Thanks,

Christine Engel, 219-3166

Court of Honor, August 31, 2010

Dear Troop 68 families,

Tomorrow night is the summer Court of Honor where we will be recognizing the scouts’ accomplishments over the past four month.  The COH will take place at the Woodland Presbyterian Church which is located near the intersection of Gibson and CR 98.  The ceremony will start at 7:00 sharp and we are asking scouts to arrive at 6:45 for set-up.  Each scout should bring the following:

- Full uniform including merit badge and OA sashes

- Entire family

- One dozen cookies to share

- Items for care package to be sent to troops in Afghanistan (optional)

We will also be distributing the new Troop 68 neckerchief slides for those families that have paid.  Slides are $5 each.  Troop 68 neckerchiefs can be purchased for $7.

Upcoming events:

We have several upcoming events.  I have attached  a sign-up sheet for your convenience to help plan  out Sept-November.

Popcorn sales:

Thank you to Carrie Ruport and the families that participated in the show and sale portion of popcorn sales,  Over $500 was raised from popcorn sales and another $330 in donations for the troops.  Order sales will be starting soon.
