Troop 68 Fundraiser Dinner

Now that the cabin fundraiser is complete, all of our efforts will go into the Tri-Tip dinner on May 6.  This is the only fundraiser during the year that raises funds for troop gear and supplies.  Each scout family is asked to purchase or sell at least six tickets.

Day Hike

On Saturday, May 12 the troop will hike to the top of Mt. St Helena outside of Calistoga.  This aggressive 10 mile round trip hike will count toward the hiking merit badge and help condition the scouts for the 50-mile hike and scout camp.  We will leave the scout cabin at 7:30 a.m. and return by 4:00 p.m.  Please bring a sack lunch, day pack and two water bottles.  Family members are welcome to attend.  Please respond directly to this e-mail if you or your son plan to attend.

Memorial Day Flags

On Sunday May 27th We will be putting the small flags on all the Veterans graves at 0900hrs and on Monday May 28th  at 0700hrs we will be putting the big flags on the perimeter and roads throughout the cemetery .  As in the past we are requesting the assistance of Troop 68.  The Memorial Ceremony will begin at 1100hrs.

Scout Day at the A’s

Mr. Villarreal received the attached flier form the Oakland A’s and they are once again offering Scout Day with the A’s on June 17th. As may of you remember we had a great time late time sitting two rows behind the A’s bullpen and even caught a foul ball. Everyone that comes and walks in the parade around the field gets a Scouting Day with the A’s patch and this day is also a give way day of a Chia Coco Crisp, my guess is a Chia pet of one of the players. We need to meet the 25 ticket number to get the discount and currently have 11 signed up.

50-Mile Hike and Camp Winton

We currently have 9 scouts and five adults signed up for the fifty miler and 14 scouts and two adults signed up for camp.  Now is the time to schedule your annual physical for the trips.  Be sure to check your physical date from last year.  I have attached a copy of the forms.  These need to be completed by June 10.  http://www.scouting.org/filestore/HealthSafety/pdf/parts_ab.pdf

We will also be having a camp/hike informaiton night in two weeks on May 15.
